This season we´ve been to NZ, Turkey, Canada, Iceland and Alaska ;-) So we had a lot of opportunities to catch some sweet shots and a lot of fun as well!

home sweet home

Sorry for not blogging about the last 3 months…

but organizing a movie demands so much time and effort, you wouldn´t expect that. Anyway, this season we managed to send the crew to even more different filming locations around the world. To keep you interested, we´ve been to Turkey, Canada, Iceland and Alaska - You´ll get a hand picked selection of pictures and some behind the scenes informations the next days!

But first I´ll start with the last 2 weeks I spent around my hometown Innsbruck. Last weekend the „Norkette Quartett“ has been held for the first time. It´s a relay with 4 competitors per team, but the special thing is that every team member has to compete in a different sport. Alright here is a short explanation: It´s about getting up and down the Nordkette as fast as possible on a defined route. The starter had to get up nearly 2/3 of the 1150 altitude difference on his mountainbike. Where the snow starts, the touring guy takes over to run up the rest of the mountain. Nearly :) it wasn´t the real top, because the downhill skiers had to run to their start as well (which was really exhausting). After skiing down to the snow limitation, the mountainbike downhill competitor was forced to manage the trail down to the finish as fast as possible.

The comp was quite popular from the first moment - the organizers had to stop the registration after the first 100 teams. My team mates were Daniel Rubsoier (mountainbike uphill), Marc Hochstaffl (ski uphill) and Gerhard Senfter (mountainbike downhill). We were able to finish with a time of 01:06:40, which brought us the 2nd place. Congratulations to my team mates once again!

A few days the weather got better and the snow conditions got stable again. Time for some steeps… With my buddies Joi and Alex Hoffmann, as well as Fabi Lentsch and the famous Arthur Spooner, I was hiking the 50° northface of the Brochkogel.

As a reward there was not a single cloud in the sky and the clear view towards Italy was just amazing! But not just the view – the faceshots I collected on the way down were awesome as well!

Even the lower located Taschach northface which reaches 50° on a vertical drop of 600m was a real pleasure to ski. That´s how burger likes it ;)

And what burger also likes is „figln“ in the slushy spring snow. It´s a weird kind of short skis, originally invented to slide down the sun effected soft top layer of the avalanges after hiking some peaks. But just sliding around in the ski area is so much fun, trust me ;) you better try it!

Time for the Whiteroom full movie

So I didn't blog too much the last time, because I was traveling around europe to join as many of our movie premiers as possible. The positive response that I got from the audience was reason enough to start a new project. So we're already filming on our new project and I promise you'll like it ;-)



But first you'll get the most important stuff now!

It was a great effort of the whole crew and I'm happy to say that we managed it to keep on being productive, without losing our pleasure and fun for skiing!

Trailer Premier - Time for the Whiteroom

alright, it`s time to release the trailer of our upcoming movie "Time for the Whiteroom" which will be shown in fall 2012.
But for the moment, just make sure that you come to Sparkassenplatz on sunday 1st of july at 8pm. The trailer will be shown on a huge HD screen just before the final of the UEFA Euro 2012.

Alaska Update

Hello my friends,

today I have some new pics from the famous Thompson Pass above Valdez, where I´ve been the last 16 days. It was just amazing out there, awesome crew, the weather-god showed us AK from it´s finest side, mind-blowing spines, no fucking cell phone and so much more... Just enjoy these pix, in my opinion no longer descriptions are necessary :-)

Valdez Alaska

Finally I made it to AK!!!
Wanted to come here last year, but due to poor snow conditions and my injury I had to stay at home. Anyway now I´m here ;-)
Together with Max Zipser, our friend Oz and Zlu Haller as our filmer / photographer. We´ve chosen the Thompson Pass as our base camp, which is surrounded by a lot of gnarly looking peaks! We already hiked some stuff the last two days, but at the moment we´re down in Valdez, because it´s dumping. The weather should be good again in two days, when our Heli period starts - if the weather forecast is right it should be awesome!!
So here are some pix of our journey and I´ll keep you updated... Enjoy

Burger´s season edit 2011

In case of my bruised ankle, I was not allowed to ski since dec. 23rd
By the way it was nearly snowing non stop since that day.
At least my dr. and physio therapist told me that I can try it in the end of next week again.
So there is no new footage, but some good shots from last season, which give me the motivation to get back on skis as soon as possible ;-)

Heimvorteil - freeriding in Tirol

... after a lot of work, commitment and all the other necessary things I´m proud to present you my first movie ;-)
Starring Alex Hoffmann, Michi Trojer and myself. For those who never heard about us, the film is a mixture of snowboarding (Alex), telemarking (Michi) and skiing (myself). We wanted to show that it is not absolutely necessary to travel the world to get some of our beloved pow pow :-) so every scene is filmed around my hometown Innsbruck.
We had already shown the movie at the Arlberg Filmfest, Zirler Filmfest, Wattener Filmfest and Freeridefestival Innsbruck.
It was a great experience to see the audience watching our movie while having a smile on their faces and getting rewarded by their final applause at the end.
We will show Heimvorteil in Nürnberg (D) on dec. 15. in the Marmot Store and in the K2 Lodge in Penzberg (D) a bit later.
So what more can I say more than thx to our camera team and everybody else who supported us,

BurgerTV Season 2.0

... here we go, I know you´re all waiting for snow, but here is a small thing that could raise your mood a bit, I guess :-) Me and Joi decided to keep on producing high professional, serious, unbelieveable and unforgettable ski-action-thriller movies, which you all know as BurgerTV ;-)
By the way, we created a facebook page of BurgerTV as well and as you can imagine, we got a million fans and likes in 30 minutes!!
No way, I´m just kidding! But the page does exist now and at this point I should describe what and why we are doing here...
BurgerTV is a parody about everybody who takes himself too seriously!
It takes skiing to a whole new level of extremly dangerous and gnarly die hard dedication to FUN! Ingredients: pure organic manure combined with a stunning moderation by Schoaschi the Anchorman and special appearances by incredibly famous super action snowsport heroes!

2nd day on skis...

... with less pain.
Those few powder turns gave me enough positive energy to work on hard, to be able to charge again, as soon as possible.
In the next two weeks I´ll have some more controlls and doctor visits, so I hope they gonna tell me - you can go for it ;-)

the trailer of our upcoming movie

..."Heimvorteil - freeriden in Tirol" is a ski/telemark/snbrd movie, starring my buddies Alex Hoffmann, Michi Trojer and myself... every scene was filmed in Tirol, following the idea of enjoying the easy things in life. Means, money can't always ensure the loved whiteroom, but with a die hard dedication and unstoppable commitment to this magical white sensation it can also be found around your hometown ;-)
The full movie will be first shown at the 17th edition of the Arlberg filmfestival on august 26th at 10:00 pm.
